I'm up.
I should be asleep.
I'm up thinking about the broken hearts I know.
My mom's, my friend's,
My other friend's friend and her friend.
Her cousin,
Her followers on instagram,
I should be asleep.
I'm up thinking about the broken hearts I know.
My mom's, my friend's,
My other friend's friend and her friend.
Her cousin,
Her followers on instagram,
The people whose tweets speak for them.
Scarred souls, confused minds.
I'm able to see right through you.
And yeah just like you.
I'm up at night.
Oh and yeah. It's me.
Hey.
Me, no one.
No one except the one to take you where you never really want to go.
Those grey skies, deep holes.
I think I mentioned the state of your soul.
Voids and all.
Agreed?
Okay great.
I need to be sure it's not only me.
Now that that's covered.
I hope with me you'll choose faith.
Faith and freedom and hope and faith.
Scarred souls, confused minds.
I'm able to see right through you.
And yeah just like you.
I'm up at night.
Oh and yeah. It's me.
Hey.
Me, no one.

Hope you liked my poem. It's quite frankly, a bit cheesy. Anyway, you are probably wondering what the plant's about. Well, firstly did you know that not all Ivy is poisonous? (Sorry, couldn't help it. I just found out )But ivy plants like most need light to thrive. Ivy plants like most will grow in a way that helps them get light, you know past barriers and distractions and all. There's a song about ivy. It's really about hope and faith. Let me explain. The song's by Kari Jobe (a lady with a great voice who's sang lots of songs for Jesus) and if we're being honest it took me a while to make sense of the song. Starts off with her being disillusioned, desperate for a sign from love, something good and kind and bringing peace to every corner of her mind. The only reason my description of the words in the song rhymes is because I just wrote the exact lyrics. (hope that gave you a good giggle.) She then says she saw the garden. If you were like me the first time you hear/ heard it; completely distracted and not paying too much attention, you'd get very confused. Eden was the only thing I could think of and it still wasn't adding up. Let me cut the chase here.
"Faith is rising up like ivy. Reaching for the light.
Hope is stirring deep inside me. Making all things right. " she sings.
"Love is lifting me from sorrow catching every tear. Dispelling every lie and torment, crushing all my fears.''
All I'm really saying, is I pray that you'll start to see green. That as you look at shattered pieces of broken hearts, as you see scars, and wounds and cuts, as you see a struggle and a battle seems to be all you know, that you will see green.
Your faith rising like ivy (is really what I mean, just in case I lost you in my poetic attempt)
That you will be hopeful. I should write about hope sometime, it can be quite intense.
That even while you see green you'll see red. Love. And God is love.
